Northwestern Medical Center (NMC) announced the new Nursing Pathway Program, a partnership with Community College of Vermont, VSAC, and Vermont State University (formerly known as Vermont Technical College) and the Vermont Talent Pipeline.
The NMC RN Pathway Program provides an opportunity for those interested in a nursing degree to apply for full-time employment at NMC while studying to complete their pre-requisite courses and Associate of Science in Nursing degree. Upon completion of this three-year apprenticeship, participants will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN and apply for RN licensure and will commit to working as a RN for 3 years. Chosen applicants will receive tuition support, paid study time, and additional wraparound services as needed to ensure success.
Chosen applicants will receive NMC wages and benefits, paid time for coursework, and will be provided with a career path with planned skill advancement and pay increases through NMC. Additionally, chosen applicants will be able to receive financial aid and grants through VSAC. Anyone interested in pursuing a nursing degree is welcome to apply, including anyone currently working in any NMC department or who has secured employment before July 17th.

The path is all laid out for applicants to advance their career in nursing from the start as a LNA, to LPN, and finally RN, with advances in employment along the way!” said Kelly Campbell, RN, Director of Professional and Organizational Development at NMC.
