As a result, these tissues and organs stop removing glucose from your blood, causing high blood sugar and a weakening of your body as a whole. Insulin resistance can lead to type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, and also has a relationship with leukemia and pancreatic cancer. With such a terrible condition that we face, is it possible that the solution lies in some of Vermont’s agricultural products? Even if you have little or no work experience, you have a lot to tell a prospective employer. Think: career objectives, relevant coursework, volunteer experiences, training and certifications, personal qualities, and achievements. December’s Professional Development Pop-Up is a workshop designed to translate your academic and life experience into a resume suitable for a health-related occupation or work-setting. The AHEC team will be joined by mentors from the UVM Larner College of Medicine to share tips and tricks for building an academic or health-career focus resume.  We’ll provide tools and resources, and give you plenty of time to start getting your ideas in writing, with feedback from peers and mentors in small groups.
